Who we are
The Bridge Debt Advice Service (TBDAS) is a confidential, free-of-charge, professional debt advice service, based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, serving the local communities of, Hemingford, Fenstanton, Somersham, Bluntisham and St Ives. Established in 2005 the team continues to support a significant number of clients with their debt issues together with providing ongoing budgeting advice. Our service is impartial and comes from a compassion for those whose lives are being troubled by debt. Most importantly we are seeing people’s lives changed as a result of using the service – we are providing hope in the most desperate of situations and a way forward in debt resolution combined with the anxiety that goes with it.
Why we are here
If you are struggling to manage your money or are already in debt, then the sooner you take action the better the outcome. Ignoring the problem will not make it go away and usually results in more problems both financially and health-wise.
Having money worries is very stressful for both you and family members which may result in breakdown of relationships or losing your family home, so the consequences are very serious.
The good news is that the issues which may be causing the financial pressures can be resolved either by yourself or with our support. We would always advise that you seek help if you are uncertain of how to approach the issues of debt or require help on budgeting.
What we do
We hold face-to-face meetings with our clients in a relaxed environment to establish their financial situation in the first instance. We generate a financial statement to understand the client’s income and expenditure and then contact the creditors to confirm the level of debt. Once all the information is available then we collaborate with the client to decide on the best solution to resolve their issues and negotiate with creditors on their behalf. We also work with the client to advise on forward budgeting to help improve their situation.
