Renewal Project Standing Order
Our renewal project is about providing great facilities to enable Mission in our
villages for the next 100 years.
-
It will help us to grow in Worship:
The redesigned worship area will provide a flexible, welcoming, well-equipped
place to encounter God!
-
It will help us to grow in Fellowship:
The new rooms and link building will provide flexible spaces with well-equipped catering and toilet facilities
for when we meet together!
-
It will help us to grow in our Discipleship:
The extra meeting rooms will accommodate our growing Sunday School and other
small groups that meet to study and learn.
-
It will help us grow in Ministry:
Great hall facilities are needed to develop our ministries to our community –
Little Fishes, the Beacon Café and other community groups
who currently have to use a 1950’s kitchen and toilets in another
building.
And, of course, it will help facilitate Mission:
The project provides more flexible and up to date buildings. They will help make a statement that Christianity isn’t a crumbling
Victorian edifice but a faith for the people of our villages today.
This project
is about doing more than that. We have a stewardship
responsibility too. The Victorians rebuilt the church in faith and subsequent
generations have benefited from their vision. Now, as with very many
churches around the country, we are rising to the challenge of meeting new demands, legal requirements and
expectations of our own age. In addition, there are many essential outstanding
repairs needed to maintain our buildings in accordance with
their Listed Building status.
This exciting scheme includes:

-
Three extra rooms
-
Refurbished worship area
-
New kitchen
-
A link building between the two buildings with
-
New store
-
Improvements to the grounds, paths and car
parking
-
and all the essential repairs
