Family History Research

The June 2004 edition of Practical family Magazine [www.family-tree.co.uk] contained in interesting article about researching the family history of those who have been involved in non-conformist churches.  They also mentioned this site and used our church as an example.

More help from us

Please bear in mind that, along with most non-conformist churches, information concerning baptisms, weddings and funerals have been archived to the County Records Office or similar places and it is very unlikely that we will have details locally.

Our church minute books are held by the Cambridgeshire County Records Office.  These may have records of baptisms (of course, of believers not infants) and funerals of church members. However, it is rare that a reference will include exact details of dates of death or the funeral or family details. The Minute Books for the "Bluntisham Non-Conformist Meeting Books 1786-1940" have been published by the Huntingdonshire Family Historical Society at £3 each go>.

We do not hold our own marriage register and so, in the first instance, enquiries are best made to the General Register Office [www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/research/].

We do have records of the burial locations of people interned in our graveyard.
