More than 8 million people have now attended an Alpha course, an opportunity to explore the meaning of life, running in tens of thousands of churches of all denominations across the world. Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought provoking weekly sessions, with a day away. It is low-key, friendly and fun. And is supported by all the main Christian denominations. Each evening includes a meal. What the press says: "What Alpha offers, and what is attracting thousands of people, is permission, rare in secular culture, to discuss the big questions - life and death and their meaning." Madeleine Bunting, The Guardian "What distinguishes Alpha from other initiatives is the easy-going, relaxed feel of the proceedings - that, and its astonishing success." Damian Thompson, The Times "Alpha makes Christianity relevant to modern life." The Express Our next course...
..runs weekly on Wednesday evenings in the John Wheatley Hall at the church, from 7.30 to 9.45pm. There is a taster evening on September 28, and the first session – 'Who is Jesus?' – takes place on October 5. The course concludes on December 14 with 'How can I make the most of the rest of my life?' We will explore who Jesus is, what he did, and what he can mean to you. We find out about encountering God personally, and what a normal Christian life is about. We also discover the value of prayer and the importance of the Bible. All in a relaxed and informative way using video and discussion. For further details e-mail:
