Meet the team
These are the guys who joined up with BMS World Mission workers
Mat and Hannah Wilson for a week packed with events in the capital city of Tirana. The aim
was to reach out to the community through football.
As well as playing matches against local teams, the men took part
in church services and street presentations. They also took
some coaching sessions in an orphanage and visited the local prison to
share their faith and passion for football there.
The invitation to our team came from Mat, pastor of the Way of Hope church
in Tirana, who is keen to develop sporting links as a way of showing people
how God can be at work in every facet of our lives.
All the squad members are part of a large and growing group of footballers
from the church who meet regularly for Monday night matches.
The team was grateful for support from the church members and congregation in
Bluntisham and elsewhere -- plus friends, work colleagues and employees --
who have given considerable support through prayer, encouragement, and
offers of practical help and financial support.
